I don’t understand why people like Windows Vista. It’s expensive (if you bought it), it’s gargantuan (it takes way too much disk space), it’s slow (my pc runs nice & quick with XP, but vista makes it feel like it’s 7 years old), it locks up quite often, the gui is incompatible with many programs, a lot of programs don’t even work with vista (which really sucks when you paid for them), the network center interface is very user unfriendly, and you need a pixel shader 2.0 capable graphics adapter to run the Aero interface which only has 3 nice features: transparent windows, cascaded screens instead of the standard alt-tab program switch bar and the side bar. Transparent windows and sidebar have been available through 3rd party add ons since XP came out.
Some people I know have since reverted back to XP. As for me, I don’t understand the need for Vista. I don’t even like Microsoft Windows but some programs I use are only available for the win32 platform and at work I also administer Microsoft Windows servers and workstations running Windows 2000 and XP, so I don’t really have a choice.
